Tri-Heart Interactive has announced that its action-packed local multiplayer, The Otterman Empire will be firing onto Steam, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One early next year. Grab a friend or three and take to the skies for co-op and versus modes in this friendship-making (or breaking) party game.

Choose your otter, customize your jetpack, add a weapon of spectacular power and leap into an otterly epic local multiplayer blast-fest with rapidly switching objectives and aerial antics, set across a sprawling universe where otters reign supreme.

The Otterman Empire features intense split-screen multiplayer action, blurring the lines between shooters and party games. Players are propelled by jetpacks, adding a captivating new twist to shoot ‘em up versus gameplay while intensifying the frenzied fun. Each two minute round demands a new objective with its own rules and gameplay dynamics. Randomly generated objectives and supply drops keep players on their toes and guarantees that no two games of The Otterman Empire are ever the same.

Compelling single-player and co-op progressive campaigns also invite players to work together or to fly solo in the face of evil, as all that stands between deranged scientist, Tiko, and his destruction of the empire.

Since its inception, The Otterman Empire has been a community-driven project, extensively playtested and refined with the help of a thriving and dedicated fan base providing feedback at every stage.
“Working with the community hands-on has been a big eye-opener for us as developers,” says Kieran Rogers, Tri-Heart Interactive Managing Director. “Coming out the gate as a ‘community-driven game developer’ has impacted the choices we’ve made every step of the way. Having a tight-knit community that is as invested in the game as much as we are, gives us a broader perspective on a project that we are so close to and it has helped us to create a party game we’re really proud of.”

Game Features

  • Eight dynamic local multiplayer modes including the fast-paced, Squiditch, explosive Detonator and sharp-shooting Target Practice.
  • Compelling campaign mode with a huge variety of challenges across an entire galaxy.
  • Ten completely customizable characters with a range of unlockable helmets, jetpacks and antenna to make your otter your own.
  • Eight lush and detailed planets including the huge volcanic base station, Fishmonger Base, the technological playground, Ottopolis and the beautiful overgrown temples of Lontra.
  • A combination of competition and collaboration which delivers a range of challenges with unpredictable outcomes.

The Otterman Empire is coming early 2020 to Steam, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Find out more at: www.theottermanempire.com

The Netflix Original TV show, Narcos, has been adapted into a video game for PS4 and PC.

Curve Digital and Kuju have announced that Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, a brutal tactical turn-based game based on the multi-award-winning Netflix series Narcos is available now for PC and PlayStation 4. Nintendo Switch owners will have the opportunity to choose their side on 21 November, with Xbox One entering the war on 22 November.

Combining turn-based tactical strategy with brutal real-time combat, Narcos: Rise of the Cartels follows the first season of the TV series through two distinct campaigns that offer vastly different perspectives on the infamous 80s drug war. Should you help build the Medellin Cartel’s rapidly expanding narcotics empire under the watchful gaze of El Patrón, or fight against them tooth and nail alongside Agent Murphy as the DEA?

Each campaign has its own iconic locations taken from the show, from Colombia’s impenetrable sun-drenched jungles to the damp streets of Medellin. Recognizable characters from the series each have their own perks to help turn the tide in battle.

“Narcos is one of the biggest hits on Netflix and is a personal favorite of mine,” says Dominic Wheatley, CEO at Curve Digital. “This game will appeal to gamers as well as fans of the show as it mixes the authentic feel of the series with an interactive experience to make you feel you’re right in the action. The characters, the storyline and the history of the cartels are all there – you just have to decide whose side you’re on!”

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is available on PC and PS4, and will be available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One later this month.

Electronic Arts, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm have released its story-driven action-adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game follows Cal Kestis, played by Cameron Monaghan (Gotham, Shameless), on an incredible journey packed with memorable companions, nefarious villains, diverse planets, thrilling lightsaber combat, impressive Force abilities, and cinematic moments within the Star Wars galaxy.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin and Steam. Also, as announced earlier, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now available on the Epic Games Store, expanding the number of options that players have to jump into this new Star Wars adventure.

“Working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been a dream come true for me and many people on the team,” says Stig Asmussen, Game Director at Respawn Entertainment. “We couldn’t be more excited to get the game into the hands of fans worldwide so they can live out the ultimate fantasy of becoming a Jedi. We created a new team that’s made up of action-adventure veterans to create this experience and we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm throughout development to create a highly authentic story, cast of characters, and unique gameplay experience that will live on as part of the Star Wars galaxy.”

In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, players take on the role of Cal Kestis, a former Padawan hiding in plain sight after the Jedi were all but wiped out after Order 66 was executed by The Emperor. When he’s forced on the run, Cal is met by his companions Cere Junda, a former Jedi Knight, and Greez, the larger-than-life Latero pilot who flies the crew’s ship known as the Stinger Mantis.

BD-1, Cal’s faithful droid that’s as charming as he is useful, will help players navigate and explore diverse planets including the Wookiee homeworld, Kashyyyk, and the never-before-seen planet Zeffo. Cal and his companions are trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire and his new enemy, the Inquisition’s Second Sister, while they unravel a mystery tied to an ancient alien civilisation that could help rebuild the Jedi Order.

In a time where it’s increasingly dangerous for Jedi, players can experience Cal’s journey from a young Padawan to a Jedi Knight. Cal’s lightsaber and Force abilities take centre stage in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s dynamic combat. Players engage in battle with an array of enemies, from creatures and droids to stormtroopers and elite Purge Troopers to showdowns with AT-STs and powerful bosses. Throughout his quest, Cal will strengthen his connection with the Force, learning powerful new skills which will be crucial in combat as well as for traversing and opening up new paths across these beautiful yet dangerous locales.
