Retailers and consumers are preparing for year-end online spending blowout, with ecommerce in South Africa expected to grow 169% post-pandemic

Cash Crusaders prepares to compete

An example of a non-traditional retailer entering this fray is Cash Crusaders, which has announced a series of specials across its New Goods division.

A leader in second hand goods, quality new goods, and secure loans , the franchised chain has has announced Black Friday specials across its Appliance, Audio Visual, Car Audio, Cellular, Computer, Gaming, Hardware and Musical Instruments product ranges.

The special prices will be available from 27 November to 29 November.

Says Sean Stegmann, CEO of Cash Crusaders Franchising: “We have seen significant growth in our New Goods business this year which is testament to our stores meeting a need within the communities it serves. Naturally, we would want to support these communities further by adopting a Black Friday strategy that allows us to compete with other mass retailers.”

Meanwhile, MTN’s fibre and home broadband subsidiary Supersonic is offering two Black Friday deals – Uncapped Home Broadband for R999pm or 30/30Gigs Home Broadband for R199pm – but making them available from 23 November to 4 December.

It will be a long Black Friday this year.
