Xiaomi gives sneak peek at folding phone
CES saw a device that folds in half but Xiaomi takes it one step further with a phone that folds in three.
Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi, took to Weibo, a Chinese social network, to post a video about the device’s folding features. The left and right side of the tablet-mode can be folded backwards to transform it into a smaller pocket-sized smartphone.
Click through to watch the device fold up to become three times smaller.
The company doesn’t provide other details about its foldable phone, although Bin said that the device in the video was an engineering model. In the Weibo post, Bin wrote that the device “has overcome a series of technical problems such as flexible folding screen technology, four-wheel drive folding shaft technology, flexible cover technology, and MIUI adaptation.”
