VMWorld: Remote virtual network printer launched

At the VMWorld conference in Barcelona this week, Uniprint.net launched a remote virtual printer designed to optimise bandwidth and increase remote printing speed.

UniPrint.net has unveiled the vPad CE, a remote network print appliance for their UniPrint Infinity v9 suite, at the VMworld Europe Conference in Barcelona, Spain, this week. The device was designed to enable data stream compression for fast remote printing; and can also replace remote print servers facilitating print server centralization initiatives.

When used with the UniPrint Infinity software, vPad CE functions as a compression-decompression engine of the data stream transmitted from the data center to remote sites over ICA, RDP and PCoIP, optimizing bandwidth availability and significantly increasing remote printing speed.  The device can also replace remote Windows print servers, saving hardware acquisition cost and enabling central print server administration.  vPad CE is easy to set up and can be installed in 10 – 15 minutes. Priced competitively at $250 per unit with a three year warranty, users can expect a full return on investment in under a year.

Powered by one PDF-based Universal Printer Driver and one Virtual Print Queue, UniPrint Infinity v9 replaces all manufacturer printer drivers, enabling secure, location-based printing on demand in any computing environment.  The printing solution also comes with a proven ROI through its statistics module, print document archiving functionality and a full redundancy module with load balancing capabilities.

David Fung, Managing Partner & CEO at UniPrint.net, said, “This new feature is becoming a game changing device for the printing industry. This new feature will help our customers to realize the full potential of their UniPrint Infinity software. This feature promises to go beyond universal printer drivers.”
