Bowser rides a horse and Dr Eggman jumps off the high dive. Luigi and Tails go on a quest to free Mario and Sonic from the Tokyo ’64 video game console, where they’ve been trapped as retro 8-bit and 16-bit versions of themselves.
Just in time for the holidays, players can experience these fun, entertaining adventures with family and friends. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is ready for you to join the party starting today, on Nintendo Switch.
The game includes the following activities:
- Take a Leap of Fun: Jump off the high board, tap some buttons, and nail a splash-free execution in the 10m Platform Diving event with retro-style gameplay. Peach always keeps her crown on too, somehow.
- Paddle, Paddle Mario: In all his 2D, sprite-filled glory, show off Mario’s strong arms as he paddles his way to victory in Kayak.
- Luigi’s On Vacation from Chasing Ghosts: The plumber in green needs a break from all his frightening adventures – for some sharp turns and carving waves in Surfing.
Narcos TV show gets video game
The Netflix Original TV show, Narcos, has been adapted into a video game for PS4 and PC.
Curve Digital and Kuju have announced that Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, a brutal tactical turn-based game based on the multi-award-winning Netflix series Narcos is available now for PC and PlayStation 4. Nintendo Switch owners will have the opportunity to choose their side on 21 November, with Xbox One entering the war on 22 November.
Combining turn-based tactical strategy with brutal real-time combat, Narcos: Rise of the Cartels follows the first season of the TV series through two distinct campaigns that offer vastly different perspectives on the infamous 80s drug war. Should you help build the Medellin Cartel’s rapidly expanding narcotics empire under the watchful gaze of El Patrón, or fight against them tooth and nail alongside Agent Murphy as the DEA?
Each campaign has its own iconic locations taken from the show, from Colombia’s impenetrable sun-drenched jungles to the damp streets of Medellin. Recognizable characters from the series each have their own perks to help turn the tide in battle.
“Narcos is one of the biggest hits on Netflix and is a personal favorite of mine,” says Dominic Wheatley, CEO at Curve Digital. “This game will appeal to gamers as well as fans of the show as it mixes the authentic feel of the series with an interactive experience to make you feel you’re right in the action. The characters, the storyline and the history of the cartels are all there – you just have to decide whose side you’re on!”
Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is available on PC and PS4, and will be available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One later this month.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order available now
The highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order action-adventure game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Electronic Arts, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm have released its story-driven action-adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game follows Cal Kestis, played by Cameron Monaghan (Gotham, Shameless), on an incredible journey packed with memorable companions, nefarious villains, diverse planets, thrilling lightsaber combat, impressive Force abilities, and cinematic moments within the Star Wars galaxy.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin and Steam. Also, as announced earlier, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now available on the Epic Games Store, expanding the number of options that players have to jump into this new Star Wars adventure.
“Working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been a dream come true for me and many people on the team,” says Stig Asmussen, Game Director at Respawn Entertainment. “We couldn’t be more excited to get the game into the hands of fans worldwide so they can live out the ultimate fantasy of becoming a Jedi. We created a new team that’s made up of action-adventure veterans to create this experience and we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm throughout development to create a highly authentic story, cast of characters, and unique gameplay experience that will live on as part of the Star Wars galaxy.”
In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, players take on the role of Cal Kestis, a former Padawan hiding in plain sight after the Jedi were all but wiped out after Order 66 was executed by The Emperor. When he’s forced on the run, Cal is met by his companions Cere Junda, a former Jedi Knight, and Greez, the larger-than-life Latero pilot who flies the crew’s ship known as the Stinger Mantis.
BD-1, Cal’s faithful droid that’s as charming as he is useful, will help players navigate and explore diverse planets including the Wookiee homeworld, Kashyyyk, and the never-before-seen planet Zeffo. Cal and his companions are trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire and his new enemy, the Inquisition’s Second Sister, while they unravel a mystery tied to an ancient alien civilisation that could help rebuild the Jedi Order.
In a time where it’s increasingly dangerous for Jedi, players can experience Cal’s journey from a young Padawan to a Jedi Knight. Cal’s lightsaber and Force abilities take centre stage in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s dynamic combat. Players engage in battle with an array of enemies, from creatures and droids to stormtroopers and elite Purge Troopers to showdowns with AT-STs and powerful bosses. Throughout his quest, Cal will strengthen his connection with the Force, learning powerful new skills which will be crucial in combat as well as for traversing and opening up new paths across these beautiful yet dangerous locales.
