Apple releases iPod Touch 32GB

Apple today announced a new iPod touch model with double the memory – and therefore double the amount of music, photos and videos it can hold – of the previous top of the range. The iPod touch now comes in a 32GB model, joining the 16GB and 8GB model. And it will shortly be available in South Africa…

Apple today added a new iPod touch model which has double the memory, doubling the amount of music, photos and videos that customers can carry with them wherever they go.

The iPod touch now comes in a 32GB model, joining the 16GB model and the 8GB model. The new model will be available in South Africa shortly, according to a company spokesperson.

‚For some users, there’s never enough memory,‚ said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. ‚Now people can enjoy even more of their music, photos and videos on the most revolutionary mobile phone and best Wi-Fi mobile device in the world.‚ The iPod touch features Apple’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface and pioneering software that allows users to find and enjoy music, videos, and photos with a touch of their finger.

The latest model includes the new software enhancements announced last month at the Macworld Expo (click here to read our report on the new iPhone enhancements), including the ability to create Web Clips for favourite web sites and customising home screens. The iPod touch features an advanced mobile web browser, Safari, and enhanced mobile applications like Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather and Notes.

The 32GB iPod touch will be available shortly at all Apple authorised resellers and apple iStores as well as Apple’s online store for South Africa, ZA Store.
