Starling Advanced Communications has recently introduced a portable plat-panel antenna for single person use. The StarPack is said to be ideal for front-line military, disaster recovery and homeland security. It weighs a mere 21kg and consists of an antenna panel, positioner, RF units and an amplifier.

Starling Advanced Communications is introducing the StarPack, a single-case, fly-away antenna providing two-way, high-speed Ku broadband satellite communications from anywhere on earth. Starling will be featuring the StarPack at Satellite 2010, March 16-18.

StarPack operates in a full range of scenarios – front-line military, homeland security, disaster recovery, and news broadcasting. A satellite-based system requiring no land infrastructure, it provides seamless communications, easily delivering heavy video, voice, and data files.

The self-contained system consists of an antenna panel, positioner, all RF units and amplifier. It is available in a portable, wheeled carry-on measuring 56x36x26 centimetres (22x14x10 inches) and weighs 21 kg.

Like Starling’s other systems, MIJET, StarRailTM, and StarCarTM, StarPack leverages Ku-band technology for true broadband benefits. It ensures fast, easy deployment by a single operator. The unit instantly acquires and tracks the satellite, resulting in instantaneous video, voice, and data transmission to and from the scene of an occurrence anywhere regardless of location and conditions.
