The Steinel TS series of lamps switch on automatically when you enter the room – and they combine design and function, creating a product that will fit beautifully in a home or office.

According to South African distributors Electro Sense, you’ll never have to worry about searching for lamp cords or light switches again. Just by entering a room, the TS series sensors will detect your presence and turn on automatically.

Manufactured from hand-blown opal glass and incorporating microprocessor-controlled sensor technology, the Steinel TS series offer a wide range of functions and settings to provide light customised to the user’s needs.

The TS series of lamps make use of a microprocessor-controlled sensor not only to determine the presence of individuals in a room, but also the amount of natural lighting coming in from outside. The sensitivity of the sensor can be set to pick up movement up to 8m surrounding the lamp, while the response threshold to natural lighting can also be set to suit individual needs.

As the room begins to get darker, or as soon as there is someone present in the room, the TS series lamp will automatically switch on.

The TS series can also be set to emit a dim light when in stand-by mode. The brightness can be adjusted between 0 and 50%, and once movement is detected, the lamp automatically switches to full power, with the brightness increasing gradually over a period of one second.

This soft light feature prolongs the life of bulbs, as brightness is increased over a period as opposed to switching to full power instantaneously.
