Hotel jobs go mobile

With the launch of a mobile friendly web site, HotelJobs.co.za is the first hospitality job site in South Africa to go mobile. The web-based service took the leap in response to research showing a massive potential user base for mobile Internet services in South Africa.

A recent study conducted by World Wide Worx found that 60 per cent of urban cellular users in South Africa have phones with internet browsing capability.

In response, the hospitality job site HotelJobs.co.za has launched a mobile version of its services.

The site’s owners comment: ‚The internet phone market is growing so fast that we knew we had to invest in it. With more and more people accessing the internet via their phones, we saw a real opportunity to broaden our reach.

‚The majority of existing mobile job sites simply allow jobseekers to browse jobs and email themselves the links to apply later. HotelJobs has taken things a step further by allowing job seekers to apply directly from their phone.‚

Once registered on the main website, visitors can apply for jobs quickly and easily via the mobile site. If they have not done so already, they will however first need to register at HotelJobs.co.za and upload their CVs. The document will then automatically be attached to the application.

As the first hospitality job site to offer this service, HotelJobs.co.za aims at positioning itself as South Africa’s premier hospitality job site.

To take advantage of the service, simply visit www.hoteljobs.co.za via your cellphone. The system will automatically recognise that you are using a phone and will redirect you to the mobile site. You can also access the site via www.hoteljobs.co.za/mobile.
