Fujifilm’s PrintLife Exhibition is one of the world’s largest photo exhibitions and it is making its way to South Africa. The exhibition is allowing anyone, and not just professional photographers, to submit an image, have it printed and proudly displayed to the public to help promote the beauty of printed photos. It will be held at Sandton City between 18-24 June 2019, with an expected 3000 photos from across the country on show.
Fujifilm South Africa has opened PrintLife entries to the public, asking for submissions from all walks of life. This can be done by completing primary details and uploading an image at www.fujifilmcompetitions.co.za. The PrintLife Exhibition is free to enter, with Fujifilm South Africa responsible for the printing and displaying of all images. This will be the first time that the PrintLife Exhibition will be hosted in Africa.
All images welcome
Images are not expected to be professional photos, with all digital images under consideration*, in any category, whether landscapes, portraits, action, macro, street scenes or black-and-white. Photos taken with any brand of camera or smartphone are allowed, however, only one entry per person is permitted.
All those who successfully enter the South African PrintLife Exhibition will receive 20 jumbo photo prints from participating retailers for free. They can also either enter a lucky draw for the amazing Fujifilm X-T100 mirrorless camera or one of five Instax instant cameras, or receive a 20% discount on their next Photo Book.
Coming from Japan, across the world
The PrintLife Exhibition has its origin in Japan, the birthplace of Fujifilm, more than a decade ago. Started in 2006, the first exhibition attracted more than 10 000 images, rising to 50 000 images the year after.
The PrintLife concept has since grown in stature, travelling across the globe, with exhibitions held in Germany, Spain, Canada and the United States amongst others, with Fujifilm printing thousands of photos in the process. The PrintLife Exhibition at Sandton City in June will be the first time that the Exhibition is to be held on African shores.
Deon Brits, sales manager for the Photographic Imaging Division of Fujifilm South Africa, said: “At Fujifilm we believe that the magic of a beautiful image can only be truly appreciated and preserved when it is printed. Through the PrintLife Exhibition we endeavour to reignite the love for the classic photograph. It is truly an honour to be hosting the PrintLife Exhibition locally and we hope that all South Africans will submit their images to be part of this international photographic event,” Brits concludes.
The PrintLife Exhibition will be hosted in Sandton City between 18-24 June 2019 and is free for all to visit. Images can be submitted through www.fujifilmcompetitions.co.za, where more information about the Exhibition can be found. The deadline for image submission is 31 May 2019.
