Three new Disney trailers win in Super Bowl broadcast

This year, Disney used the Super Bowl broadcast to air thee new trailers from some of the most anticipated films of the year. Oz The Great and Powerful, Iron Man 3 and The Lone Ranger trailers all premiered at last night’s game.

Last night’s Super Bowl XLVII action may very well be remembered for the Raven’s win over the 49ers and Destiny Child’s reunion during the half-time performance, but one tradition has become just as celebrated each year the release of brand-new trailers from the various film studios. This year, Disney aired three new trailers from some of the most anticipated films of the year Oz The Great and Powerful (8 March), Marvel’s Iron Man 3 (3 May) and The Lone Ranger (12 July) all premiered new trailers during the broadcast.

The 3 extended ad spots revealed never-before-seen footage from the anticipated releases coming in the next 6 months.

Disney’s fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot‚Äîfame and fortune are his for the taking‚Äîthat is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.
