Sony launches 3D Vaio

Sony has unwrapped its most innovative new computer range yet at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. The VAIO F Series 3D laptop incorporates Blu-ray Disc and 3D functionality into one portable device. It’s made possible by Sony’s own FullHD 3D LED backlight technology, Full HD 1080p picture quality, a built-in 3D sync transmitter and included 3D active glasses.

Once again providing consumers with products that enhance the mobile entertainment experience, Sony today unwrapped its innovative new PC with 3D technology— the VAIO F Series 3D laptop.

“This laptop is a multimedia powerhouse melding cutting-edge technologies such as Blu-ray Disc and 3D functionality into one portable device,”” said Mike Lucas, senior vice president of the VAIO business group at Sony. “”Now consumers can experience an unparalleled, immersive entertainment experience on their terms ‚Äî in the living room, on-the-go, wherever.””

Ultimate Mobile 3D Experience

Featuring state of the art technologies and elegant design, the F Series 3D laptop delivers a superior viewing experience displaying incredibly high contrast levels and vibrant colors via Sony’s own FullHD 3D LED backlight. A built-in 3D sync transmitter and included 3D active glasses let you enjoy 3D movies and photos in Full HD 1080p picture quality.

The F Series boasts high-speed refresh rates and an ultra-high contrast ratio greatly reducing unwanted video artifacts and providing the ultimate close range 3D viewing experience. Plus, its 3D button enables you to convert 2D HD video and DVD/BD to 3D in real time.

Multimedia Marvel

Featuring a 16.0-inch Full HD (1920×1080) widescreen display, it’s the ultimate entertainment laptop letting you view games and movies in impeccable detail and amazing color. A Blu-ray Disc optical drive enables you to play high-definition content like movies in Full 1080 HD resolution as well as record, store and playback personal content on CD/DVD media.

Its display is ideal for watching Blu-ray Disc movies. Since many HD films are shot with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the unit’s extra-wide LCD is constructed with the same dimensions. This minimizes the black bars that typically appear, letting you view movies in their intended format.

With Sony’s own S-Force Front Surround 3D system you do not need a home theater system to get vibrant sound. The unit’s extended stereo effect plus simulated 5-channel surround sound provide the perfect accompaniment for viewing 3D content.

Effortlessly connect the PC and transmit in 3D to a compatible HDTV with 3D via its HDMI‚Ñ¢ output (cable sold separately) for a larger viewing experience.

A NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M with 1GB dedicated VRAM card provides high-definition graphics processing for intense gaming action without placing huge demands on the unit’s CPU.

Launch directly into Sony’s own Media Gallery software, by pushing the designated VAIO button on the keyboard, and rediscover your favorite music and photos with the software’s intuitive filing system. Developed with design in mind, the software includes a stunning user interface with easy-to-use features that take the work out of enjoying your media.

It packs a second generation Intel Core i7 Processor with 4 cores and supports Intel Hyper-Threading and Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 delivering the premium performance needed for powerful PC gaming. It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
