Relive the arcade classics

In 1987, Homer hit TV screens with The Simpsons, RoboCop gave us 20 seconds to comply and in the arcades gamers were playing 1943: The Battle of Midway, Avengers & Black Tiger. Now you can relive these classics on your modern game console.

These three classic games can now be relived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with the release of the first triple pack of titles from Capcom Arcade Cabinet. This 1987 pack is available to purchase from today on the North American PlayStation Store and tomorrow on the European PlayStation Store and in both territories on XBLA at a price of R50.00 (exchange rate dependant). There’s no excuse not to take a trip down memory lane as one of these titles, Black Tiger, is available to download for FREE. Downloading Black Tiger will also give access to the Capcom Arcade ‚’platform’ which provides additional features including DIP switch functionality, a music player, and the ability to capture and share screenshots or video.

In 1943: The Battle of Midway pilot a P-38 Lightning over the pacific ocean and take on waves of enemy fighters, bombers and aircraft carriers in this vertical scrolling shooter. It is time to get tough on the streets of Paradise City and rescue six girls from the clutches of gangland boss Geshita and his henchmen In the vertical scrolling beat em up Avengers. Black Tiger heads to a fantasy realm where a plucky barbarian encounters all manner of creatures and enemies in classic side scrolling and platforming action.
