New virtual network aims at students

MVN-X is in the process of launching its 7th Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) into the market – a student friendly MVNO that forms part of the new and improved Van Schaik Rewards App.

Aimed mainly at students studying at tertiary education institutions around South Africa, the app enables students to earn Rands and benefit from their standard everyday behaviour, both in their buying habits in-store as well as their mobile usage.

Steve Bailey, CEO of MVN-X, is excited at the opportunity of working with the recipient of the Sefika Academic Bookseller of the Year Award for the last five years running. “The student market in South Africa has largely been underserved in the telecommunications field. Students have specific needs, and we are hoping that this new venture both meets and exceeds those needs. This is another great example of the agility of the MVNO – being able to meet a specific set of needs for a specific market.”

From a rewards perspective, Van Schaik Bookstore has always endeavoured to make student life as simple and rewarding as possible. The app hopes to fulfil the student’s needs for instant gratification – giving them real time tangible benefits for being just that – students. Stephan Erasmus, MD of Van Schaik Bookstores responded as follows. “We are excited at the opportunity to work with MVN-X and to extend the Mobile rewards offering to students.”
