LG showcases 3D at IFA
LG is showcasing its new product ranges and building on its Cinema 3D portfolio at this year’s IFA tradeshow in Berlin.
The new products combine the latest in 3D technology and SmartTV functions for smarter, more comfortable and more convenient 3D. LG’s line-up also includes better 3D surround sound technology to complete the home cinema experience.
The LG LW980T series offers Cinema 3D and SmartTV, plus LG’s Nano Full LED technology, creating the ultimate TV and entertainment hub for the entire family. The Nano Full LED screen creates brighter, clearer and smoother pictures: and allows the TV design to be slimmer. This flagship LG TV provides the best in 2D, 3D and SmartTV and comes complete with seven pairs of 3D glasses, built in Wi-Fi and the Magic Remote control to make it LG’s ultimate Next Generation TV.
LG also launched the HX906TX 3D Sound Home Cinema system for the complete 3D solution, with a 9.1 speaker system. This product creates a powerful audio experience close to that of the cinema or live concerts and bringing 360º sound straight into the living room: as credited by Dolby.
Andreas Spechtler, Regional Vice President EMEA at Dolby comments, ‚We are very pleased to support LG’s HX906TX 3D Home Cinema system with our Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital Plus products. Both companies’ technologies combined bring a better 3D audio and a real cinema experience into the home.‚
SmartTV remains to be a key focus for LG in 2011 with the award winning platform boasting over 175 different applications ranging from BBC iPlayer for the best in catch-up TV, over 9,000 movies and TV titles via blinkbox, breaking world news from ITN and children’s entertainment on the Cartoon Network.
Michael Comish, CEO and co-founder of blinkbox said, ‚We are very excited about our partnership with LG and launching as part of such a fantastic digital product. LG is a key player in the internet connected TV market and delivering our service through LG TVs helps us to continue to achieve our ambition of making online movies even more accessible for our customers.‚
Stephen Gater, Consumer Electronics Marketing Director, commented, ‚The first half of 2011 has seen LG grow significantly in the 3D market, with its Cinema 3D technology. The new products we’re launching at IFA 2011 will further enhance this range, offering consumers the best in 2D, 3D and SmartTV in one neat package for the ultimate in home entertainment.‚
