HiSense enters SA smartphone market
HiSense has launched the Infinity Prime 1 smartphone in South Africa. The device will be sold through Kalahari.com for R2999 and will be available from 1 December.
The new smartphone has dual SIM capabilities, allowing users to simultaneously run two SIM cards from different accounts and networks off a single mobile device.
The Hisense Infinity Prime 1 also features a slick and glossy design with a large 5″ screen and a capacitive ‚’multi-touch’ QHD IPS display. This is coupled with quad-core processors, working off an Android Linux-based operating system.
Hisense says it is viewing the mobile phone market in Africa keenly, and is earmarking the category for aggressive growth.
However, it’s growth in South Africa will initially be limited, as it will not be marketed by the mobile networks at launch. Instead, it will be sold through kalahari.com.
‚””The Prime 1 phone is one of many phones that Hisense will be launching into the South African market, with further models planned for launch in the New Year, across various price points,‚”” said Jerry Liu, General Manager of Hisense South Africa.
‚””As with all of our products, our mobile devices are built around the promise of innovation and leading technology. This model, in particular, we are certain will do particularly well in the local market, not only because of its accessible price point, but also because it allows users to switch between networks and run multiple SIM cards at the same time.‚””
The new Hisense Infinity Prime 1 smartphone will be available from 1 December 2013 at Kalahari.com for R2999.
