Hotel Artemis
A secret hospital exclusively for criminals. What could go wrong?
Hotel Artemis is a cyberpunk thriller film set in 2028 about an agoraphobic nurse (Jodie Foster) and her complicated business: running a criminals-only, luxury hospital in the abandoned hotel. Two brothers get involved in a botched bank heist where one gets shot. Waikiki (Sterling K. Brown) takes his brother, Honolulu (Brian Tyree Henry), to Hotel Artemis for treatment, but something very valuable is taken during the heist and the owner comes to claim it back.
Bearing in mind that this is Foster’s first feature film in close to half a decade, she pulls off the role of the seemingly organised nurse who’s deathly afraid of going outside. Writer and director Drew Pierce set the story to have many twists and executed them brilliantly, as he did with Iron Man 3. The film features four actors who played roles in the Marvel Comic Universe: Sterling K. Brown (The Black Panther), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Kenneth Choi (Captain America: The First Avenger), and Jeffrey Goldblum (Thor Ragnarok). – Bryan Turner
