Save time with some dialling tips
Do you call contacts using speed dial? What about speed dialling your voice mail? Have you formatted contacts to dial work extensions? If you answered “no” to any of these questions this article is for you. These three simple tips will make phone calls many, many times easier.
Call contacts with speed dial
If you are like most people you dial the same four to five people all the time. Maybe it’s your significant other, your best friend, or your mother and father. No matter who, looking them up in contacts each time you want to talk gets old fast. Do yourself a favour; use speed dial. Speed dial lets you assign phone numbers to numbers on your phone keypad.
For example, you could assign your best friend’s mobile number to “2” on the keypad. When you wish to call your friend, you simply press and hold “2” on your keypad and off you go. Speed dial saves so much time you won’t believe you lived without it.
Note that “1” is automatically assigned to your voice mail number (see below for more on speed dialling voice mail).
How to set up speed dial for a contact’s phone number:
1. In the phone application, press the Menu key.
2. Click View Speed Dial List.
3. Click any unassigned key.

To place a call using speed dial is easy. Simply open the phone application, and then press and hold the key that you assigned to the contact you wish to call. For example, to call the contact you assigned to “3”, just open the phone application and then press and hold “3” until the call begins.
