SA’s first sub-R1000 tablet

TabletWorld, a division of LuckyMobile, this morning released the cheapest tablet computer available in South Africa: the 7‚ Colpad, with a price tag of just R999.

TabletWorld, a division of LuckyMobile, today launches the Colpad, the cheapest, full-featured tablet computer in South Africa, with a price tag of just R999.

The TabletWorld device, available from www.tabletworld.co.za, is a 7″ WiFi-only tablet running on Google Android 2.2. The device runs on a 660MHz RockChip2818 processor and 4GB of Flash memory. Its Micro SD slot will support Micro SD cards of up to 32GB capacity.

It comes pre-installed with a range of popular apps, including Angry Birds, Kindle reader, TuneinRadio, Facebook, Twitter, DropBox, Soundhound, Jango and IMDB. With trackball function and a stylus, the device promises to be extremely user-friendly even if you are not used to touchscreen devices. Its 4000mAH batter offers up to six hours of life per charge.
