Samsung scores Vodacom Bulls
Samsung Electronics today announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement with the Vodacom Bulls. The agreement, signed in Johannesburg, will position Samsung as the Official Electronics Sponsor to the Vodacom Bulls for the next three years.
‚We are extremely proud to be associated with a rugby team of the calibre of the Vodacom Bulls,‚ says Mr KK Park, CEO of Samsung Electronics South Africa. ‚They have a proud history of success, which is in line with our organisational philosophy.‚
In addition to the sponsorship, Samsung Electronics will be donating Samsung products for the two Bulls Development Houses situated at Loftus Versfeld, which are home to a group of development players aged between 18 and 20 years. The youth were identified for their great potential and receive proper training, nutrition and medical attention as part of the Vodacom Bulls High Performance Centre training initiative.
‚Samsung is committed to supporting initiatives which give back to the communities in which we operate,‚ says Park. ‚Sport elicits a sense of pride, patriotism and has the ability to bring a nation together. We are therefore privileged to be able to play a role in developing sport in South Africa.‚
Says Blue Bulls Company CEO, Barend van Graan: ‚We warmly welcome Samsung, as our new electronics sponsor, to the Vodacom Bulls family. This partnership with Samsung is a perfect fit with the Vodacom Bulls, as both our brands provide entertainment to our respective customers. The Vodacom Bulls play rugby, which is watched by millions of South Africans on TV each week, when they’re not physically attending the matches at the stadium. And with Samsung being a global leader, I’m sure thousands of our supporters around the country are watching our matches on Samsung TV screens in their homes or at pubs and restaurants.‚
‚Two brands, both with blue and white as their main corporate colours, both providing entertainment ‚ in my mind, that’s a match made in heaven,‚ he concludes.
