MWEB Business launches into VoIP

IT business connectivity and solutions provider MWEB Business has extended its business offerings into the voice services arena with the launch of three VoIP (Voice over IP) PBX packages that offer to “bring the sophistication and flexibility of next generation voice technology within reach of businesses of all sizes””.

Bernard Kur, Head of Product Management and Development at MWEB Business, says the introduction of the MTALK PBX-VBX Bundle range means businesses can now obtain all their business’s connectivity, data and voice communications requirements from a single, tier-one provider.

The MTALK PBX-VBX Bundle range leverages the latest open source technologies from VBX Telecoms, enabling MWEB Business to deliver a reliable and affordable VoIP product over its next-generation network to customers in a way that best suits their requirements. The MWEB network has interconnects to all voice service providers.

‚Each option in the MTALK PBX-VBX Bundle range is a fully-featured VoIP-based PBX solution with all the functionality and flexibility of traditional PBX systems,‚ Kur adds.

‚It includes the hardware, software and 24/7 remote technical support needed to enhance and improve business communications, and is easy to set up and administer.‚

At the same time, businesses save on upfront capital expenditure as the PBX server controller and gateway are available on either an outright purchase or rental basis.

‚This enables businesses to upgrade their PBX at any time as well as to scale it to their business requirements easily and affordably,‚ he explains.

All MTALK PBX-VBX Bundle packages reduce outgoing call costs as they come with least cost routing capability and per second billing. Inter-branch calls and conference calls from PBX extensions are free, and the savings on cell phone and international calls are significant. Customers can expect a cost saving of around to 30 percent on calls.

All bundles also include an MWEB VoIP (SIP) Gateway with a VoIP telephone number and a choice of failover gateways (Telkom analogue, BRI or ISDN) to enable the PBX to continue functioning should the Internet connection go down unexpectedly.

MWEB Business also offers a selection of IP phones from basic models to executive/secretary IP phones, wireless IP phones and conference phones.

Standard PBX features include interactive voice response, voicemail and voicemail to email, call recording, call queuing and audio conferencing (up to three eight-party conference bridges are available) as well as typical telephony features such as follow-me, ring/hunt groups, call forwarding and call parking. Additional features include PIN-based dialing and extension mobility.

In addition, all MTALK PBX-VBX Bundle packages come with a Telephone Management System for viewing detailed call history and associated costs.

Three main VBX bundle options are available:

– VBX 10 – ideally suited for small to medium businesses and branch office solutions, the VBX10 can scale to a maximum of 10 IP telephone extensions.

– VBX 20 ‚ with the ability to scale to a maximum of 20 IP telephone extensions, the VBX 20 is ideal for small to medium large businesses and branch offices

– VBX 50 ‚ aimed at medium to large businesses, the VBX50 can scale to a maximum of 50 IP telephone extensions.

Customised solutions, which can accommodate up to 1000 extensions, are also available for businesses that need more than just the basics.
