Huawei has announced the launch of two new flagship smartphones that are set to hit the African market early in 2015. The 6″ Ascend Mate 7 and the 5.5″ Ascend G7.

These devices symbolise our continuous commitment to provide customers with access to premium quality products that won’t break the bank,” said Yudi Rambaran, director of product marketing for the Huawei Consumer Business Unit in South Africa. “We are proud to announce that these smartphones will be available from early next year and we anticipate successful uptake from our channel partners”.
The Ascend Mate7 is the latest big-screen smartphone from Huawei and has a slim 7,9mm, ergonomically curved design made of a strong aluminium alloy that weighs only 185g.
The standard Ascend Mate7 single-SIM model is offered with 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board memory in either moonlight silver or obsidian black. The premium, 3GB RAM with 32GB memory is a dual-SIM device that is available in amber gold.
One of the phone’s outstanding features its new single-touch fingerprint technology that combines with Huawei’s next evolution of EMUI 3.0 user interface.
The Ascend Mate7 will be available from early 2015, with the standard version retailing at a recommended price of R7000-R9000 while pricing for the dual-SIM model is still to be announced.
Huawei is also launching the Ascend G7 LTE Smartphone, the latest addition to the Ascend G series. This single-SIM handset will be available early 2015 at a recommended retail price of between R4000 and R5000.
The release of these two new smartphone models follow hot on the heels of the hugely pink Huawei Ascend P7 LTE Smartphone. The Pink P7 is available in store now for around R6699.
