Sony today announced the worldwide release of Gran Turismo 6 (GT6), the latest iteration of the best-selling PlayStation franchise, available exclusively for PlayStation 3.
Polyphony Digital, developer of ‚’the real driving simulator’, has delivered the most authentic experience to date to celebrate the franchise’s 15th Anniversary. Complete with the most realistic physics engine and massive online functionality, GT6 offers a staggering collection of more than 1,200 of the world’s best cars and 37 tracks, featuring seven new venues that include the iconic Silverstone Circuit, Australia’s Mount Panorama and Spain’s Ascari Race Resort.
A full list of new features included in Gran Turismo 6 was outlined to European media by Gran Turismo creator, and President of Polyphony Digital Inc., Kazunori Yamauchi, at a special launch event held in the historic City of Ronda. Included in Yamauchi-san’s presentation were models of an exciting new collaboration with Red Bull, in the shape of the Red Bull X2014 series, as well as sketches of a number of new Vision Gran Turismo concepts produced in collaboration with major automotive partners and set to drive the future of automotive design.

Gran Turismo 6 delivers the most complete and expansive racing game on any console. Highlights of the new game revealed by Yamauchi-san include:
¬∑ Expansive Roster of Cars More than 1,200 cars in total and over 120 new cars added to the line-up in GT6. Fans can expect an even greater selection of cars included in the game including historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars from popular series such as the FIA GT3, Le Mans Series, World Rally Championship and Nascar. For an out-of-this-world experience, players of Gran Turismo 6 will also be able to unlock a special event featuring the unique Lunar Rover vehicle.
¬∑ World Famous Circuits From the N√ºrburgring to the beautiful scenery of Andalucia, to a neon-lit original Kart course,Gran Turismo continues to recreate wonderful tracks, adding brand-new, real-world tracks such as Silverstone Circuit, Ascari Race Resort, Goodwood Hillclimb, Willow Springs International Raceway, Brands Hatch and Australia’s Bathurst Mount Panorama circuit as well as original circuits including Gran Turismo Arena, Matterhorn and a revised Apricot Hill Raceway.

¬∑ Red Bull X Series revealed Following on from the popular collaboration with Red Bull, revealed at the launch of GT5, that spawned the Adrian Newey-designed ultimate race car, the Red Bull X2010, Gran Turismo 6 will go even further by featuring three new Red Bull cars: the Red Bull X2014 Fan car (X2014/F), the Red Bull X2014 Standard car (X2014/S) and the Red Bull X2014 Junior car (X2014/J). These three cars were designed by Polyphony Digital Inc. in collaboration with Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of four-time F1 champions Red Bull Racing.
Marking the excitement around the launch of Gran Turismo 6 was a very special honour. Following the presentation of the new game, Ronda’s mayor revealed that one of the city’s historic streets has been named ‚’Paseo de Kazunori Yamauchi’.
The latest instalment to the ultimate petrol head gaming franchise from Sony Computer Entertainment, Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) arrive in stores across the world today, 6th December 2013.
Gran Turismo 6 is available at retailers from 6 December, 2013 priced at R 749.00 and the GT6 Anniversary Edition will retail at R 899.00.
YouTube Music announces Smart Downloads, SA playlists
The service has introduced Smart Downloads which takes allowing users to store and play hundreds of tunes offline, automatically.
The latest updates from YouTube Music, for subscribers of its Music Premium and Premium services, include a new feature that allows users to switch seamlessly between a song and its music video for an uninterrupted experience.
It has also introduced Smart Downloads which takes the work out of downloading music, allowing users to store and play hundreds of tunes offline, automatically. YouTube Music has also announced new playlists for South Africa.
The updates all reflect features that are popular on the global leader in music streaming, Spotify, and that have been key to its growth.
YouTube said in a statement on Friday: “Imagine listening to a new track by your favourite artist in the YouTube Music app and having the ability to seamlessly switch over to watch the music video – no pauses, no interruptions, just a simple tap that keeps the music flowing. This standout new feature from YouTube Music allows YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium subscribers to make a seamless transition between a song and its music video for uninterrupted listening and/or watching. Whether you’re in the mood for listening or watching (or a little of both)… it’s all here – no app switching required.”
With Smart Downloads, YouTube Music automatically saves music at night, when connected to Wi-Fi, helping subscribers to use less mobile data, enjoy a smoother updating experience and save up to 500 songs offline using Liked Songs playlist as well as other playlists and albums.
Previously, music lovers could use the Offline Mixtape feature to download up to 100 songs, specifically chosen for them based on what they listened to most on the platform. Now, with Smart Downloads, they select the number of songs they would like automatically downloaded by toggling their YouTube Music Settings. This means YouTube Music Premium subscribers with Smart Downloads enabled on their mobile devices can now access hundreds of tracks regardless of connectivity.
This feature is currently available on Android, with plans to bring it to iOS in the future.

Warriors of Waterdeep RPG gets mobile launch
Top game developer Ludia has announced the global launch of Warriors of Waterdeep, a mobile turn-based RPG game, based on the ever-popular Dungeons & Dragons franchise for the App Store and Google Play Store. This release marks the first partnership between Ludia and Wizards of The Coast, leaders in fantasy role-playing games.
In Warriors of Waterdeep, players will need to summon a team of heroes as the great city of Waterdeep is threatened by powerful dark forces.
