Free LinkedIn and Pinterest

FNB Connect is offering their ADSL customers free LinkedIn and Pinterest data browsing between 7 and 11pm.

FNB Connect currently also offers customers free Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Farren Roper, Head of FNB Connect ISP and Business Operations goes on to say ‚”with the addition of Free LinkedIn and Pinterest, we now offer our customers free access to the top social networking sites in South Africa. This is in line with our approach of adding value by making the internet more accessible to our customers. The social networking phenomenon is something which we as a bank have embraced, so we saw this as a good opportunity to give back.‚”

According to the recent South African Social Media Landscape 2012 study, produced by World Wide Worx and Fuseware, LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world, with a presence in over 200 countries. In South Africa it is estimated that more than 1.9million South Africans have a profile on LinkedIn.

FNB is the largest financial service brand on LinkedIn with close to 40 000 followers. Pinterest is also one of the fastest growing social networks globally. In this regard, Lana Strydom, Head of Brand Digital at FNB adds ‚”FNB is one of the biggest South African brands in the social media space, so by giving our customers free access to social media it is not only a great value add, but also an opportunity to expand our digital footprint and to interact with our customers on these platforms.‚”

Aside from free social networking access, qualifying FNB Customers currently get up to 5GB of free monthly ADSL data. They also get free ADSL access to FNB websites like FNB Online, FNB Connect, eBucks.com, as well as educational sites such aslearn.co.za and South African universities.

Roper concludes, ‚”Aside from any financial service company, you would be hard pressed to find an Internet Service Provider that gives as much back to their customers as we do. This is in line with our strategy and our customers can expect much more exciting things to come in the near future.‚”
