Don’t forget to catch your ‘Tron: Legacy’ glimpse

Walt Disney Studio’s 2010 sci-fi epic, ‘Tron: Legacy’, may only be released in South Africa on 31 December 2010, but the excitement and hype surrounding the 3D high-tech adventure with vehicles, machines and weapons only dreamt about before can be felt around the world.

As the sequel to the 1982 film Tron, Tron: Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. With a cast comprising of Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges (reprising his role as Kevin Flynn), Michael Sheen, John Hurt as well as newcomers Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, the film sets off across a visually-stunning cyber universe – a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

Fans across the globe are counting down the days until the film’s release (31 December 2010 in South Africa) and, to whet their appetites, Walt Disney Studios has announced that Thursday 28 October 2010 will be International Tron Day. For this day only, at only four 3D cinemas across the country (please see details below), South African fans will be joining their international counterparts the world over in celebrating the must-see film in 3D.

Approximately 20 minutes of exclusive footage from the biggest release of the year from Walt Disney Studios will be shown at 19:00PM in 3D. The selected scenes will give movie-goers a glimpse into the futuristic world of Tron: Legacy, featuring outlandish costumes and make-up, the biggest special effects, the coolest gadgets and the edge-of-your-seat action, that is sure to leave you gasping for more! And with a soundtrack scored by scored by Grammy Award-winning electronic music duo Daft Punk ‚ what more could you want?

Tickets are free and are available at the cinema on the night (from 6:00 pm) on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please note that strict security will be in place, and 3D glasses will be charged for.
