CES 2012: Best of Laptops

Laptop, a mobile technology magazine, on Thursday announced the winners of its eighth annual Best of Consumer Electronics Show Awards.

Laptop’s team of editors and writers reported daily from the biggest U.S. consumer technology event of the year, covering the hottest products on display with breaking news, photos and videos. Of those, Laptop selected 13 winners for its Best of CES 2012 Awards. The winners are groundbreaking devices, technologies, and applications that redefine their categories through the progression of design and performance while also enhancing the user experience.

“This year’s CES was marked by the emergence of the Ultrabook and the reemergence of Nokia, but it also showed how wireless technology is connecting everything from hard drives to cars to the cloud,”” said LAPTOP Editor in Chief Mark Spoonauer. “”We were also very excited to see both new and established companies truly push the envelope at this year’s show, which makes our job of selecting the most innovative products that much more enjoyable.””

Best Mobile App: Splashtop Remote Desktop THD

Best Camera: Nikon D4

Best Camcorder: Sony Bloggie Live

Best PC Accessory: Mobile Monitor Technologies Monitor2Go

Best Tablet/Phone Accessory: Satarii Swivl

Best Audio Device: Sonomax Technologies Eers SD150

Best Car Tech: Mercedes Benz Dynamic and Intuitive Control Experience

Best New Tech: Tobii Technology Gaze UI

Last week, Laptop also asked readers to vote on their favorite product at the show via a poll. Readers selected from a list of products nominated by Laptop’s editors. The winner, the Acer Aspire S5, was also announced.
