CES 2010: Celebrities make appearances at CES 2010
Television stars, sports icons, legendary actors and authors were at the 2010 International CES to promote and interact with the products and technologies shaping the consumer technology world.
Drew Carey, host of the long-running CBS game show, The Price is Right, appeared as a guest on CNET LIVE during the CES, recently held in Las Vegas. A self professed tech enthusiast, Carey toured the show floor with CNET editors and shared his show favourites.
The highly anticipated CES spotlight, Living in Digital Times, is no stranger to celebrity appearances. This year the MommyTech TechZone hosted the most decorated American gymnast in history, Shannon Miller, seven-time Olympic medallist and nine-time World medallist. Martha Kanter, Under Secretary of Education for the US Department of Education, delivered an opening keynote for the HighEd Tech Summit to examine the quickly changing world of colleges and universities. Kids@Play hosted Alan Kay, creator of the DynaBook concept and Garfield the Cat.
As the Official HDTV of Major League Baseball, Sharp hosted Milwaukee Brewer’s Prince Fielder, winner of the 2009 State Farm Home Run Derby and 2009 Brewers MVP.
UpNext at CES, an all-new conference program focused on ideas and strategies for producing, promoting and profiting from media content, had Illeana Douglas, star and creator of Easy to Assemble also known for recurring roles on Ugly Betty, Six Feet Under and Law & Order. Ken Howard, Emmy-winning actor and president of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) was also present at the conference.
Kodak didn’t skip a beat with its celebrity line up at the show either. The following big names were seen at Kodak’s booth: Jill Zarin, reality star on The Real Housewives of New York City; Soleil Moon Frye, American actress, co-founder of the Little Seed; TV stars of Woke Up Dead; Jon Heder, Krysten Ritter, and Josh Gad; Illeana Douglas, star and creator of Easy to Assemble also known for recurring roles on Ugly Betty, Six Feet Under and Law & Order; Amber Ettinger, known as Obama Girl and Kevin Steelman – professional golfer.
Former Miss California Deana Avila appeared NTi’s booth for autographs and pictures. After winning the title of Miss California in 1995, Deana Avila went on to be California’s contestant in Miss USA. She was also a judge for the Miss California USA and Miss Utah USA. The Public Record hosted rock musician Tommy Lee. Lee honoured one of the Public Record users with a signed guitar and a chance to play live with him at the booth. NBA veteran, Junk Yard Dog, Jerome Williams, was with Blackline GPS also present were Stan Lee, Guy Kawasaki, James Patterson and Pauley Perrette.
