Vodacom, G-Connect, team up for mobile/Wi-Fi bundles

Vodacom has launched G-Connect Wi-Fi bundles to provide Prepaid, Top Up/uChoose and Contract customers the ability to connect to over 1 500 integrated G-Connect Wi-Fi Hotspots throughout the country.

The Wi-Fi Hotspots include AlwaysOn hotspots, as well as G-Connect’s in-Flight Wi-Fi Internet access onboard Mango Airlines. The concept is that Vodacom customers will have the convenience of using either mobile or Wi-Fi data to suit their location and circumstances on their Vodacom account.

Prepaid, Top Up/uChoose and Contract customers can purchase Wi-Fi bundles in-store, through the My Vodacom App, the Vodacom Portal and Mobi, USSD *111# and Customer Care on 082111/155. Contract customers can sign up for a 24 month data contract which includes Wi-Fi in-store.

When purchasing a G-Connect Wi-Fi bundle, Vodacom customers will automatically be registered as a “Wi-Fi User” on the G-Connect Wi-Fi network or any of its integrated, third party Wi-Fi networks.

Vodacom customers will gain Wi-Fi hotspot Internet access by using their My Vodacom username and password.

By 2019, the G-Connect Wi-Fi Hotspot network and footprint is set to consist of no less than 6000 national Wi-Fi hotspots, providing more coverage and connectivity convenience to Vodacom customers.
