Local soccer stars score blogs
TEAMtalk media recently launched exclusive blogs from South African football stars Siphiwe Tshabalala and Itumeleng Khune. According to the media company, these blogs are likely to attract millions of readers.
In partnership with Prof’sionalz Marketing and Management agency, Tshabalala and Khune will write exclusively for TEAMtalk media’s flagship offering, Football365.co.za and the mobile version f365.co.za in the capacity of the website’s official brand ambassadors.
The blogs are said to give fans both here and abroad the inside track on the South African national team’s programme ahead of the 2010 World Cup.
Tshabalala shot to prominence in 2006 when he made his debut for South Africa whilst on the books of Free State Stars, who were then in the second division.
But ‘Shabba’ quickly established himself as one of the biggest names in South Africa by securing a move to Soweto glamour club Kaizer Chiefs and by becoming a regular for Bafana Bafana.
With his distinctive dreadlocks, Tshabalala remains a crowd favourite across the land and is sure to play a role for club and country in the coming years.
Like Tshabalala, Khune is a shoo-in to play at the 2010 World Cup and although he is just 22, the goalkeeper has established himself as the number one for both club and country.
But it could have been very different for the Ventersdorp-born youngster, who started his career as a defender before being converted to a glove man.
Prof’sionalz is a Johannesburg-based marketing and events management agency and besides Tshabalala and Khune, the agency has other players such as Teko Modise and Jimmy Tau on their books.
Concludes TEAMtalk media founder, Barrie Jarrett: ‚With Nielsen’s October 2009 ratings positioning TEAMtalk media as the seventh most popular publisher, and Football365 the fifth most popular brand amongst online readers, the blogs are likely to be read by 1,047,534 unique readers accessing the Football365 brand alone.‚
