Wearable cameras go hi-def
Midland Radio Corporation has announced the addition of high-definition cameras to its XTC wearable video camera range. These new cameras will be showcased at the biggest new gadgetry show, the Computer Electronics Show (CES), being held in Las Vegas from 6 to 9 January.
Midland Radio Corporation has announced the addition of high definition models to its XTC video camera line. After the introduction of the standard definition XTC100, Midland moved quickly to develop the HD video cam models: XTC200 – HD 720p, and XTC300 – true HD 1080p.
Also known as wearable video camcorders, these tiny but powerful cameras are designed to attach to helmets, goggles, handlebars and more, leaving the user’s hand free to participate in the action. With these cameras you can capture all the action while fully participating in the outdoor activities or extreme action sports you love.
The HD XTC200 and XTC300 video camera are sure to make a big splash in the marketplace. “Action cameras are a growing market,”” said Charlie Speights Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Midland. He continues, “”Some of the older cameras are larger and a bit cumbersome. The one button on/off design of the XTC line is ingenious. A single flip of a single switch allows you to start recording so it’s perfect for everything from sky diving to scuba diving.””
With the purchase of the XTC100, 200 or 300 the consumer receives accessories that allow the camera to mount to multiple surfaces. Accessories include a universal mount, strap mount, goggle mount and handlebar mount. Midland’s growing line of accessories includes a submersible case and windshield mount.
“”The multiple attachments that come with the camera are ideal too,”” states Tyler Cracraft, Midland’s Product Manager, “”Use the appropriate mounting device then go anywhere or do almost anything and shoot-and-share your POV (point-of-view) footage.”” See actual footage at www.MidXTC.com.
Midland also offers camouflaged cameras: the SD 480p XTC150 and HD 1080p XTC350. These cameras were designed for outdoorsmen and include accessories to attach the camera to the bill of a cap, handlebars, hunting bow or tree.
After successfully passing rigorous quality control tests involving intense vibration, drop-tests, lighting consistency and varying sound levels, Dan Devling, Midland’s president states, “”Midland’s quality control is among the most stringent in the industry. The Midland name stands for durability and reliability, and the XTC Series will further that reputation.””
