Verbatim makes next leap in flash drives

Verbatim is taking the next step in the flash sector with its new SDXC class 10 memory card with 64GB storage capacity. The new SDXC (SD eXtended Capacity) flash card is designed to handle large volumes of data at lightning speed and provides users more portable storage and speed for their electronic devices such as mobile phones, camcorders, digital cameras or game pads.

• Next-generation SDXC 64GB class 10 memory card

• Handles large volumes of data at lightning speed

• UHS-I bus interface offers up to 104MB/s transfer speed

• exFAT file system to handle large volumes of data

• SDXC compatible with Windows7, Vista, XP

• SDXC memory cards can be used only with SDHC host products

Large volumes of data and incredible speed

Two advances in technology make it possible to handle larger volumes of data than on SDHC cards. On the one hand the exFAT file system, on the other hand the UHS-I bus interface with speeds up to 104MB per second. While SDHC cards provide storage capacities up to 32GB only, the new SDXC (SD eXtended Capacity) memory card from Verbatim stores 64GB of data, offering enough space for over 20,000 10-megapixel JPEG images with fine mode or 8 hours recording with Full HD video mode. The exFAT file system enables the SDXC card to handle those large volumes of data. Additionally, the UHS-I bus interface transfers movies, videos, pictures, games, eBooks, mobile apps or navigation maps with speeds up to 104MB/s.

‚Users of digital cameras can shoot more pictures per second than ever before with that technology so a shot at goal by a football player, for example, can now be captured in far more detail. Moreover, with private users becoming more professional with their camcorder filming, SDXC cards offer the opportunity to record professional videos as well,‚ comments Manny Cross, Manager – Sub Sahara Africa at Verbatim.

Compatible with SDXC host products

The Verbatim SDXC 64GB class 10 memory card is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP and works in host products featuring the latest SDXC technology. While SD and SDHC cards can be used in SDXC slots, SDXC cards only perform in SDXC host products. PC or laptop users need to download an SDXC compatible driver for the SD slot available from the Microsoft Download Centre.
