MWC: Polaroid prints from pocket

Polaroid is showcasing several new solutions for the on-the-go user at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, including the new pocket-size Polaroid Zip mobile printer.

The Polaroid Zip mobile printer, approximately the size of a smartphone, weighs just 186g and allows consumer to print photos instantly while on-the-go. The device measures 2.91″ x 4.72″, just less than one inch thick and boasts a striking high-gloss finish augmented by the iconic Polaroid Color Spectrum logo. The printer pairs wirelessly to any smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth 4.0 or NFC and using a dedicated free mobile app available for both iOS or Android, it allows users to instantly print 2×3 inch color photos. The Polaroid Zip utilizes Zero Ink Printing Technology by ZINK Imaging creating full-color, high quality, long-lasting and smudge-proof images without ink cartridges, ribbons or toner. With the app, users can capture a photo or select and edit an image from their gallery, applying a wide range of creative filters, effects and controls, including:

Polaroid is also displaying a number of popular iconic imaging products, including the retro-inspired, Android-powered Polaroid Socialmatic instant digital camera, and the Polaroid Cube HD lifestyle action video camera. Both products are currently available globally.

Polaroid Goes Mobile

Launching at the show is a new line of Polaroid smartphones exclusive to Europe. The collection features the first Polaroid Windows smartphone as well as Android models featuring the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Phones in the line are either 3G or 4G capable and feature Quad-core or Octa-core processors. All smartphones boast a slim and stylish design and feature both front and rear-facing cameras. Models in the collection are available in a variety of different colors and prices ranging from 89-199€ ensuring that consumers can find the phone that best suits their lifestyle and price point.

The new line of Polaroid smartphones can be paired with the new Polaroid fit bands. With the Bluetooth-enabled fit bands, users can measure and analyze activity during the day such as steps, distance travelled and calories burnt to help them reach their fitness goals. Additionally, the Polaroid fit band can help users improve their sleep quality by measuring and analyzing their sleep throughout the night. Data can be synced using the fitness app and Bluetooth 4.0. The fit bands are compatible with iOS and Android devices. Users have the option to wear their fit band on their wrist with the bracelet accessory or attach it using the belt clip accessory.
