MTN will be offering Huawei Mate dual-SIM smartphone to cater for an increasing number of customers who have multiple SIM cards.
MTN will be ranging the much-anticipated Huawei Mate S to its customers effective 30 October 2015.
The LTE-compatible Huawei Mate S has a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen, 13MP main camera with fingerprint technology as well as a powerful Hi-silicon Kirin 935 chip running off a 64 bit Octa core processor.
It has a battery life of nearly one and half days with a capacity of 2700mAh and is available in 64GB variation from MTN.
Larry Annetts, Sales and Marketing Executive: MTN South Africa, says the Mate S is a much-awaited addition to MTN’s broad range of smart devices and it will become handy for customers who are travelling.
“The decision to range this smartphone is in response to the feedback we have received from our customers for a high-end smartphone that caters to their usage patterns. Having operations across Africa and the Middle East, we are acutely aware of behavioural patterns across different markets. Our customers have requested a handset they can use when travelling by having access to a local SIM card when they are out of the country while they still retain their primary SIM card. The decision to range this versatile device gives expression to our vision of offering a distinct customer experience.”
In the past, dual-SIM handsets were mainly limited to low cost devices.
“MTN is cognisant of the importance of retaining a number over a period of time and many of our customers have dual SIMs which is often a work number and their personal number. The Huawei Mate S caters to those customers who wish to retain both numbers without the burden of having to carry two devices,” Annetts concludes.
The Huawei Mate S will be available on My MTNChoice 100 for R499 per month. Customers who take out a contract in November will receive an additional 30GB data for the first month. It is also available on PayAsYouGo for a retail price of R10799.
