iStore cuts price on iPhones

The Core Group has announced that iStores will be selling the new iPhone 5 for a cash price below that of the mobile operators, while older iPhone prices have been slashed.

iStore said that selling the iPhone 5 for cash would be ‚”a first‚” at time of product launch. Cash purchases will also extend beyond iPhone 5 to include iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. Additionally, iStore customers will have the opportunity of purchasing iCare Plus, an extended warranty package for iPhone.

iCare Plus extends warranty coverage to 2 years from the original purchase date and includes 2 incidents of accidental damage*. iCare Plus is exclusive to iStore customers and is available for a once-off purchase of just R299**.

iStore customers are now able to choose from a wide range of iPhone purchasing options, which include cash purchases, contracts and upgrades on Vodacom, MTN, and 8ta or through the in-store FNB deal, whilst still having access to the exclusive services.

*Each incident of accidental damage is subject to a service fee of R500 and includes cracked screens and water damage.

**Pricing varies according to when iCare Plus is purchased. When purchased together with an iPhone, the once-off cost is R299 and within 30 days of purchase of an iPhone, the once-off cost will be R799.
