Japan Week comes to Sandton
Some of the best loved Japanese companies are showing off their latest gadgets at Japan Week, which kicked off yesterday at Sandton City shopping centre in Johannesburg.
Japan is well known for many reasons and especially for their many iconic brands, but few brands stand out more in the consumer’s minds than Japanese science and techno merchandise. Japan Week 2014 will see some of the best loved hi-tech companies display their wares from 26 to 31 March 2014, at Sandton City Shopping Centre.
Science boffins will not want to miss out on Nikon microscopes and Digital imaging systems display: Visitors to the display will also have the chance to win a Nikon Coolpix camera.
An event showcasing the greatest in Japanese products would not be complete without Sony electronics, Toshiba computers and printers, and Hitachi home appliances. Fujifilm will exhibit the Frontier S / QPS printing Solution, the Instax range of cameras as well as the X series range of cameras. Photos will be taken against the photo wall of Mount Fuji and developed onsite.
In addition, top architects, artistic body painting, fascinating nail art, innovative hair products, the finest in music technology, sportswear, outdoor equipment, automotive, as well as appearances by the beloved Hello Kitty character and Nintendo’s renowned brothers Mario and Luigi promise something for everyone in the first event of its kind.
Japan Week is sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a governmental agency designed to promote trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Japan Week aims to educate and entertain consumers while also highlighting trade opportunities and partnerships between the two countries.
