Free YouTube for FNB Connect customers
FNB Connect has announced that their ADSL customers will be able to access YouTube for free for 2 months. As from 6 May ‚ 1 July 2011, customers who are registered for FNB Connect Surf will browse the world’s most popular video viewing site 24/7 to upload, view and share videos.
YouTube has grown into one of the world’s top 3 search engines with billions of views and searches annually. It has also been at the forefront of popular culture and viral campaigns globally.
‚Broadband access is reaching more consumers and we are in a digital age in which multi-media and social media are becoming more widespread and popular in South Africa and worldwide. As part of our innovative and customer centric approach, we are enabling our customers to be part of this growing trend by giving the free access to YouTube,‚ says Farren Roper, Head of Products and Markets at FNB Connect.
Since inception FNB Connect has aligned itself with digital and social media trends with registered Connect Surf ADSL customers already being able to browse popular social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter for free in the evenings from 19:00 ‚ 23:00.
‚Between our existing free social networking browsing and now the free YouTube promotion, we aim to satisfy most of our customers’ social networking needs. YouTube has revolutionised advertising, broadcasting, music and multimedia in general and we want our customers to be a part of this experience. YouTube is considered by many bandwidth users to be a ‚luxury’ item because of the costs associated with video streaming and we are proud to be able to spoil our clients in this manner,‚ concludes Roper.
