Sony yesterday announced the new VAIO F Series, the first 3D compatible VAIO. The 16.0” full HD display brings entertainment to life with a bright and crisp 3D image that is optimised for comfortable, flicker-less viewing powered by an Intel Core i7 Quad core processor and NVIDIA GeForceGT 540M GPU.
Advanced 3D technology and features
Featuring state of the art technologies and elegant design, the F Series 3D laptop (VPCF217) delivers a superior viewing experience displaying incredibly high contrast levels and vibrant colours via Sony’s own Full HD 3D LED backlight display. A built-in 3D sync transmitter and included 3D active glasses allow you to enjoy 3D movies and photos in Full HD 1080p picture quality.
The F series boasts high-speed refresh rates and an ultra-high contrast ratio greatly reducing unwanted video artefacts and providing the ultimate close range 3D viewing experience. Plus, its 3D button enables you to convert 2D HD video and DVD/BD to 3D in real time.
Powerful spec for enhanced HD entertainment
The power-packed Intel Core i7 processor featuring 2.30GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.40GHz easily takes care of all your 2D and 3D multimedia entertainment needs. It is matched with the latest high-performance NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M GPU with Microsoft DirectX 11 support for smooth, fluid full HD video playback.
The new VAIO F series also delivers an extra dimension of audio entertainment. Enjoy music and movies in cinema-style surround sound through headphones with Dolby Home Theatre v3.Additionally, S-force front surround 3D technology creates a virtual 5.1 channel surround sound effect from two Inbox bass-reflex speakers. The result is a powerful, realistic sound that enhances both 3D and 2D content.
For more convenient use
The new VAIO F Series is refreshingly easy to use, with conveniently-placed function buttons just above the keyboard for one-touch access to handy functions. The dedicated ‘VAIO’ button launches the Media Gallery for effortless browsing through photo collections, video clips and music, while touch sensitive AV playback buttons simplify navigation through your AV library. The ‘ASSIST’ button launches VAIO Care software to troubleshoot problems.
Not only does the new VAIO F series boast an isolation keyboard for comfortable typing; it also includes a full-size numeric keypad for quick data entry and graphics editing, and backlit keyboard that allows you to enjoy effortless typing in the dark. It is also complemented by an ergonomic touchpad with gesture support for a richer, more intuitive computing experience with Microsoft Windows 7 and supported applications.
The new VAIO F series is equipped with USB 3.0 ports, which supports dramatically quicker data transfers than the standard USB 2.0. The new VAIO F series has two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. It also boasts Bluetooth 3.0 forfast data connections with mobile devices.
