The Wyse division at Workgroup IT has announced the availability PocketCloud 2.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Wyse PocketCloud is a remote desktop application that has been successful in the iTunes application marketplace, and is ranked among the 10 business applications since its introduction at VMworld 2009.
The Wyse division at Workgroup IT has announced the general availability of Wyse Technology’s PocketCloud 2.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.nWyse PocketCloud is a remote desktop application that has been extremely successful in the iTunes application marketplace, and is ranked among the 10 business applications since its introduction at VMworld 2009.
“It allows end users to access their files, desktop and applications on any physical or virtualised infrastructure via a choice of well supported protocols,” says Mercia Oosthuizen, product manager: Wyse at Workgroup IT. “PocketCloud is also VMware Ready certified for VMware View for the entire family of Apple iOS devices and offers integration into a pre-existing VMware View environment with no special setup or software required.”
PocketCloud provides secure mobile display and control of physical or virtual instances of Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Remote Desktop Services, and Terminal Services features in Windows Server products.
PocketCloud for iPhone and iPad also includes the new Wyse PocketCloud Premium, which enables a richer, more intuitive interaction with the multimedia files and applications in Windows desktops.
New to Wyse PocketCloud for iOS devices:n-          Secure, hassle-free access to user devices with minimal setup, no technical know-how needed;n-          Simple connection to Mac and Home editions of Windows;n-          External monitor support on iPhone 4 and iPad;n-          Performance improvements made for iOS 4; andn-          iPhone 4 retina display support.
And Wyse PocketCloud Premium features include:n-          Video streaming that allows users to stream media video files from remote desktops to devices anywhere over Wi-Fi and 3G;n-          Quick access to applications, files and active applications;n-          Desktop and folder search features; andn-          Thin browser enhancements that enable users to deploy remote desktop Internet Explorer bookmarks and history.
