Sub-£200 tablet first with 3D

UK based company, Storage Options has announced the Scroll Excel 7‚ , its first 3D tablet for under ¬£200.

Storage Options, the UK-based technology brand, has launched its fastest ever tablet PC and the country’s first tablet under ¬£200 to handle 3D content.

The new Scroll Excel 7‚ has been added to the extensive Scroll tablet range. It is packed with lots of innovative new features and priced extremely competitively, at just ¬£129.99, making it easily the most cost effective tablet to handle 3D content on the market.

Operating on Android 2.3, the Scroll Excel has the ability to output 3D content directly to a 3D TV, or monitor, by downloading 3D content to the tablet and played back on a big screen through a mini HDMI cable. It will also output 1080p HD video content in the same manner.

The new unit boasts a Cortex A8 1 Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM with 4GB Memory built-in and the ability to expand through a micro SD Card up to 32GB, making it easily the most responsive Scroll ever produced.

With a 16-bit G-sensor, enabling the seven inch screen to rotate 360 degrees, teamed with Flash support and a capacitive touch screen, the Scroll Excel is ideal for internet browsing, social networking, E-Books, online TV and video services.

Paul Evison, marketing manager for Storage Options commented: ‚We are really proud of the Scroll Excel as this is easily our fastest and most responsive tablet to date. We have been listening to our customers and adding the features that they said they wanted. The user experience when internet browsing, or gaming, is really impressive and has only been seen before on far more expensive products. We also believe that this is the first tablet to market with the ability to output 3D video to a 3D TV. This additional feature should appeal to those who already have a 3D TV but aren’t sure where to get their content from. In a way the Scroll Excel bridges the gap between 3D content that’s available on the internet and actually getting it onto a 3D screen.‚

Paul added: ‚This is now easily the fastest tablet in our range and we think people will be really excited at the opportunity to have a highly responsive 3D tablet at a price that doesn’t break the bank.‚

Storage Options is launching the product in time for Christmas and the new unit has already proved extremely popular with gadget enthusiasts and will be featuring on Channel 5’s the Gadget Show on 21st November 2011.

Due to the anticipated high demand for this new product Storage Options is allowing customers to make pre-orders for the units through its website.

Storage Options has also launched the Scroll Essential 7‚ Tablet, for those happy with a resistive screen and a lower price of ¬£69.99. Compatible with the latest H.246 and MKV video formats, the tablet becomes a 1080p full HD media player allowing HD content to be streamed to a TV. The Scroll Essential comes with 2GB standard memory which can be easily expanded to 32GB with a micro SD card. This unit also operates on Android 2.3 but it has an ARM11 1GHz processor with 256MB DDR2 RAM.

Both of these new tablets will come preloaded with WildTangent’s new Android Games Service which allows users to try premium games for free after watching a short video. Users will also be able to rent games for a small cost or buy any of the games they want to keep. Rental prices begin at just 15p for a 24-hour period and all rentals apply toward full game ownership.

As with all Storage Options products, these devices are supplied with clearly-written and annotated manuals and are backed by a local-rate technical support phone line serviced by experts based in the UK.
