Print-from-web drives new products

Drive Control Corporation has announced the availability of HP’s ePrint services. These services transform HP’s new Photosmart and OfficeJet all-in-one products which now incorporate the company’s ePrintCenter platform into web-enabled publishing platforms.

It is estimated that one out of three documents are printed from the web – a trend that is fuelled by the proliferation of smartphones and other devices that now offer easy access to online pages. In light of this growth and in order to maximise online printing accessibility, HP’s new Photosmart and OfficeJet All-in-One (AiO) products now incorporate the company’s ePrintCenter platform that effectively transforms printer into web-enabled publishing platforms.

Available from official distributor, Drive Control Corporation (DCC), the ePrint sevices allow users to customise print apps and schedule timed delivery of content – such as news from msnbc.com and Yahoo! and creative after-school activities from Disney – directly to their home or business printers.

Locally, users can already gain access to printer apps partners such as Google, Disney and Dreamworks, enjoying fun and interesting content that has been formatted for efficient printing. More South African content will become available in the coming months.

In addition to gaining access to printer-enabled apps, the ePrint printers also have unique e-mail addresses that allow senders to deliver a print the same way they would send an e-mail message. User also can send documents to print through an HP ePrint mobile app on their Smartphone device to a home, office or public print location such as a hotel.

“With the ePrintCentre, HP has effectively transformed its printers to bona fide web-connected devices that enable easy online access to relevant print-ready documentation, whether it is background information for a school project or a new recipe. The centre makes it exceptionally easy to navigate and manage these apps, plus the e-mail address functionality takes away a lot of the hassle associated with printing on a remote printer or sending information to the office,”” comments Esna-May Hattingh, HP Business Unit Manager at DCC.
