MTN South Africa has launched a campaign designed to get prepaid customers to start using their dormant SIM cards or SIM cards that have not been used for 31 days by rewarding them with airtime.
“MTN is giving back customers with dormant SIM cards with R10 airtime,” says Brian Gouldie, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN South Africa.
A dormant SIM card is one that has not been used for more than 31 days. To benefit from this promotion, a customer needs to put the old SIM back into a mobile phone, use the reward that is waiting for him or her, and then keep the SIM in the phone.
“And because MTN is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the organisation will give even more back. So customers should keep using their old SIM cards to receive future prises that will be offered throughout the year,” says Gouldie.
This follows hot on the heels of the launch of Pay As You Go value bundles in R7, R12, and R17 denominations which are inclusive of minutes, data, and SMS’s. These have been designed to provide prepaid customers with additional flexibility when it comes to managing their cellphone budgets.
“The prepaid bundles are also giving our customers a guaranteed flat rate that lets them plan their budgets more effectively than before,” concludes Gouldie.
To activate the bundles and enjoy the lowest call rates on MTN, a prepaid customer can dial *141*2# and select the option that meets their budget.
