Giving small businesses a boost

The Office on Show, a new event that will allow visitors to gather insight into what makes the perfect workspace, will proved one visitor with the opportunity to take his or her small business to the next level.
The event will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 27 to 29 October. Visitors to the show will stand the chance of winning an amazing prize, valued at R60 000, which will give their small business a healthy boost.

Sponsored by The Business Centre, the prize consists of a six-month lease-free office tenancy, with facilities.  Located at the prestigious Design Quarter, this office will be furnished and accommodate three workstations. Included are 20 hours of boardroom time, reception and welcoming staff, and parking for three cars. Telephones and the cost of calls are excluded.

The Business Centre has been offering serviced office solutions for over six years, providing the essential services needed to successfully run a business at minimum cost. Office solutions and short-term rental options are geared specifically to enhance the growth of SMMEs.

Says marketing director Ceri James: “The value of the prize goes far beyond the R60 000. The winner will be able to set their company up with no initial operating costs. They can be a professional business, backed by a sound company. They will be able to rub shoulders and network with like-minded people, and take their small home business to a new level.

”Partnering with The Office on Show is a great educational opportunity, allowing us to encourage businesses to consider serviced spaces, rather than traditional offices, as there could be a saving of 40% to 50%. We would like to help businesses give it a try, and to experience what we do.”

Exhibition director Linda Kruger, of Tinted Ash Exhibitions and Promotions, the organiser of the event, adds: “We are very excited about the launch of this event, the only one of its kind in the country, and we are equally proud to associate ourselves with The Business Centre in this initiative. The timing couldn’t be better to provide a small business with the means to get up and running, and lay the foundations for its business future. The synergy is perfect.”

The Office on Show, which aims to take a fresh look at exhibitions and events, and to “do the conventional, unconventionally”, will cover all aspects of the office – for the corporate, SME, entrepreneur or home-based professional. A comprehensive range of products and services will be on show, and you can meet in The Boardroom for presentations and demonstrations that will offer you cost-effective solutions and help you create a healthy office environment.
