Canon releases new EOS mirrorless camera

Canon recently introduced the mirrorless EOS M6 camera to its EOS M family. The camera features a 24.2 Megapixel APS-C size sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF and DIGIC 7.

Canon provided the following information:

Capture bright summer days to late winter evenings using Canon’s DIGIC 7, which offers enhanced processing power to ensure images are richer in tone and detail, regardless of lighting. Combined with a 24.2 MP CMOS sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF, DSLR-like quality and speed is achieved every time. For spontaneous moments you can’t control, from lively street performers or high-intensity action, the EOS M6 shoots continuously at 7 fps, or as quick as 9 fps when shooting with fixed AF – so you’ll never miss a moment. In-camera five-axis video stabilisation provides perfectly smooth Full HD 60p video that stay steady when you’re on the move, improved further by using a Dynamic IS lens, such as the

EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM.

Iconic EOS design and controls

Incorporating Canon’s classic EOS design, the EOS M6 is the perfect size to join you on your adventures, ready to capture the creative moments you seek out. An intuitive, large tilting LCD touchscreen and thumb operated dial offer full control of the camera at the touch of a fingertip, for easy handling whatever the composition.

Connect and share

With integrated Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, you can share your images quickly and easily for the world to see with the EOS M6.

A constant connection between the EOS M6 and your smartphone can be maintained via Bluetooth connectivity, letting you view your photographs without taking the camera from your bag. You can also use Bluetooth to remotely capture the perfect group selfie or shoot wildlife from discreet locations without disturbing your subject.

An all-new viewfinder

Also introduced today is the Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2, a compact and lightweight external electronic viewfinder for both compatible EOS M cameras – including the EOS M6 – as well as a range of PowerShot models. The new 0.39-type viewfinder includes a 2.36 million dot display that reveals every intricate detail, while 100% coverage ensures everything the eye can see is captured in the shot. The Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2 shows movement in real time with up to 120 fps refresh rate and makes it easy to swap between screen and viewfinder shooting, simply by raising the camera to your face, for truly responsive shooting.
