Canon has introduced a dedicated Wi-Fi adapter for its acclaimed EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R cameras.
The new accessory, the Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1, allows users to transfer shots directly from compatible EOS DSLRs to iOS and Android smart devices and computers while on-the-go. It also offers remote shooting, ideal for capturing unusual angles, landscapes or wildlife.
Canon provided the following information:
Portable and lightweight, the Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 is the size of an SD card and fits into the memory card slot of compatible dual card slot EOS DSLRs. Providing the ultimate convenience, photographers can review and display images on a tablet or monitor, upload to the web from smart devices, and save a copy whilst out on location.
With the Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 you can also shoot remotely, directly from a smart device running Canon’s Camera Connect app, PC or Mac using EOS Utility software, from up to 10 meters away. It’s ideal for photographing wildlife up close, or wirelessly shooting in a home studio, thanks to remote real time view and camera control – allowing you to activate the shutter, adjust exposure and change the focus point.
Following Canon’s ongoing commitment to enhance connectivity in its product range, from the end of October 2016, the Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 will be included in the box with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II giving enthusiasts the ability to control the camera wirelessly and download images and mp4 movies on the move.
