PriceCheck named BlackBerry App of the Year

South African mobile shopping app PriceCheck has won the BlackBerry App of the Year category in the BlackBerry Achievement Awards, beating competition from more than 100 000 apps from around the world.

The South African mobile price-comparison app, PriceCheck, won the top honours in the BlackBerry Achievement Awards announced in Orlando, Florida, during the Blackberry Live conference this week.

PriceCheck was named BlackBerry App of the Year rising to the very top of the 100 000 eligible apps in the BlackBerry World app store.

The annual BlackBerry Achievement Awards (formerly the Wireless Achievement Awards), “celebrates how BlackBerry technology helps to power innovation and brings ideas to life””, says the company. The Awards were announced at BlackBerry Live on 15t May.

PriceCheck is designed in South Africa and gives shoppers access to prices and reviews of around 30 million products in thousands of categories. The app also provides direct access to hundreds of on- and offline stores. A barcode scanner forms part of the app and makes comparing and finding best prices in store very easy.
