PHILIPS BRILLIANCE 200 P3G

Computer monitors have changed drastically over the past few years, with the industry having discarded the old 14‚ and 15‚ inch screens. Naturally, this has seen a boom for bigger screens, with all sizes from 17‚ and up posting record sales. STEVEN CHIABERTA wanted to see if this revolution really was necessary, so he took an example of the bigger brigade – the Philips Brilliance 200 P3G – home for a few hours.

No! You better do warm-up exercises before trying to set this baby up.

Once you have set it up, it requires more experimentation than most monitors, because it does more than most monitors. A nice problem to have.

For its price tag (see below), it had better deliver ‚ and it does. I repeat: a very impressive product.

Yes ‚ it has so many features and can do so much for a mere monitor.

Here lies the second problem that I have with this monitor: at a recommended retail price of R20 999 it is exorbitantly priced. It is obviously aimed at the corporate user, with very, very few individuals likely to be able to afford it. It is a shameless luxury that looks really good but is not very necessary.

The Philips Brilliance 200 P3G is available at major computer stockists countrywide.
