The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducting interactive holiday performances at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre from 12 to 14 July.

The school holiday performance is ideal for the whole family and provides a unique opportunity for young people (aged 6-10 years) to be introduced to each instrument in the orchestra. The 45-minute presentation includes an explanation of the science behind the sound of the instruments as well as an understanding of how the different instruments are used to convey emotion and create a musical story.

The show includes a classical performance suitable for a younger audience and forms part of the JPO’s on-going education programme to develop a love of classical music for all generations to come – across all ages, races and people of South Africa.

The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra performances are 45-minutes long and will take place in the Sci-Bono auditorium 11:00 ‚ 11:45 on Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 July.
