Motorola brings Android phones to SA

Motorola Mobility yesterday introduced two new Android 2.1 smartphones in South Africa, the Motorola Flipout,a stylishly square and compact smartphone, and the Motorola MB525 which is slim, pocket-able and “life-proof”.
The Motorola Flipout features a square pivot design that opens to reveal a five-row QWERTY keypad with a separate row for numeric keys. The Flipout features up to seven customisable home screens, live wallpapers and added security for Exchange server users. n n“Flipout merges Motorola’s design heritage with Android to deliver a new take on the typical smartphone form. In an incredibly compact square, The phone fits neatly into your palm, purse or small pocket, making it easy to stay connected while on the go,” says Megan Nicholas, Country Manager for  Motorola Mobility South Africa “For fans of social networking, the Flipout allows users to connect with their networks however they want.” n nIn South Africa, the device will be available in an array of colors and consumers can choose from four interchangeable battery doors in White, Fairway Green, Raspberry Crush or Saffron. n nMotorola MB525n nMotorola’s MB525 is a handset that has been designed to handle everything that life throws at you. n n“Our daily lives are full of challenges, which prompted Motorola to design a phone that is ‘life proof’,” continues Nicholas. “The Motorola MB525 is scratch and water resistant as well as dust proof, protecting it from life’s little challenges such as spilling liquids, a sudden rain shower or a drop in the sand.” n n“The MB525 is more than just water resistant and dust proof; it’s boredom proof too,” says Megan. “The Connected Music Player lets you download new music instantly, find lyrics and cover art, and share it with your friends, right from your phone. Both handsets will be available in South Africa in December 2010.
