Inside the new Kindle e-readers

The Kindle Fire was not the only official product launched yesterday by Amazon. CEO Jeff Bezos, also introduced three new Kindle eBook Readers, priced even cheaper than the current models.

The Kindle Fire, Amazon’s flagship reader is able to use all applications available from the Android Market Place, features a touch screen interface and uses a “Kindle Skinned”” Android operating system.

These two models are similar to their respective predecessors, however the both are said to be smaller and lighter. The Touch 3G offers 3G connectivity and is claimed to be able to work on networks in over 100 countries. The Touch is a standard Kindle reader with a touch screen.

Also announced was a Kindle under $79 or around R620. This reader does not have a touch screen interface but instead uses a 5-way controller for navigation.
