Garmin has released the nuvi 42LM and 52LM range of budget personal navigation devices in South Africa.
Global satellite navigation leader Garmin has released a budget range of personal navigation devices (PNDs) in South Africa.
The new gadgets form part of the new Essential Series devices, within the 2013 nüvi line-up of PNDs.
Garmin’s n√ºvi 42LM (4.3‚”display) and n√ºvi 52LM (5‚”display) offer easy navigation along with spoken turn-by-turn directions and innovative, driver-friendly features. Garmin City Navigator Southern Africa preloaded maps let users easily locate addresses and thousands of Points of Interest (POI).
For example, Lane Assist with Junction View1 uses brightly coloured arrows and detailed images to indicate the proper lane for a turn or exit. Garmin’s Essential n√ºvi range also displays current speed, speed limit with warnings of upcoming safety cameras and accurate time of arrival.
The Essential Series is sleeker and thinner than before: with a re-designed mount that reduces visual clutter, for less distraction.
‚”Garmin n√ºvi devices are the gold standard of navigation due to their ease of use, reliability and feature richness. We are proud to introduce the latest market leading innovations for a lifetime of navigation‚” said Mathys Thompson, Category Manager Automotive at Garmin Southern Africa. ‚”Our new Essential line-up significantly improves how navigation can help drivers find their way whilst keeping their eyes on the road.
The Essential Series also comes with Free Lifetime Map updates for the lifetime of the unit. No activation or registration is required. However much the road systems change, the user will still be shown the best way without paying for any further map update s.
Both GPS devices are now available at selected retailers nationwide: the nüvi 42LM has a recommended retail price of R1249.00 (incl. VAT) and the nüvi 52 sells for R1449.00 (incl. VAT)
